Congratulations to Shirlena Johnson on reaching the judges house stage and past BootCamp, but unfortunately it is now apparent she has lied to us about her age.
We wish Shirlena all the best in XFACTOR however it has come to our attention we can no longer allow Shirlena to continue with Miss Great Britain. Shirlena entered our pageant back on 24th February and accepted our rules and regs stating her age as 28. Shirlena competed in Miss Central London and Miss South East, and didn't place. She was about to compete this Saturday in Miss Essex GB. However we have now had to stop her from entering, because her real age became aware on ITV1s XFACTOR Tv show. The Miss Great Britain office trusts girls and their age at regional level. We do however check all girls passport details at the Final stage. Good Luck Shirlena. We are still behind you, and think you are 'Fantastic!!' Shirlenas profile

Here at the Miss Great Britain office we insist on honesty and integrity with voting.Big Brother star Rex Newmark has been disqualified.
It is with a public statement that Liz Fuller CEO of Miss Great Britain has taken the decision to disqualify judge and Big Brother star Rex Newmark, after last night it emerged he had previously been romantically linked to Miss Central London Lora Jayne Nuttall.Another judge Julian Bennett is also believed to know Lora.
Last night a photo emerged on Facebook of Rex and Lora romantically entwined dated over a year ago. Consequently, the Miss Great Britain office have taken the immediate decision to strip Lora also of the title and to re-run the Miss Central London heat on May 8th.
Liz wants to apologise to the other contestants, to reassure that a heat will never be fixed or be under suspicion of partiality, influence or unfair voting, whilst she is in charge and has issued this statement to the national press,
'As CEO of Miss Great Britain, I am utterly disappointed by Rex's disingenuous behaviour, as he had reassured us of his judging experience, his impartiality, and hadn't declared his involvement with the winner . What happened isn't fair to the other girls. I am now considering a full female judging panel consisting of City high flying career women and will insist on open judging that the girls can see for themselves afterwards'
‘For Miss Great Britain the oldest beauty pageant in the world and most loved national title to have a future, it must be steered into very different waters than its recent past, and with myself in charge I fully intend for the public to see the difference. I want to apologise to the girls and will make sure a beauty competition run by me will never be unfair or cast under a suspicion of fixing, as some often are.’
Lora Jayne Nuttall has asked the Miss Great Britain office to issue this statement. The Miss GB office have taken the decision to strip her of the title due to a re-run and have not disqualified her from taking part in another heat.
'I would never dream of jepardising another girls chance or want to win on a fixed vote.
I am such a girls girl and am distraught that anyone would think I would deliberately cheat or ruin the competition for anyone.'

Single mums between 18-29 can now enter Miss Great Britain!
Here at the Miss Great Britain office we are determined to bring the famous beauty contest into the 21st century. Beauty pageants for far too long have been stuck in the past, and once a male dominated business with little regard for the real interest of the girls who enter.
Accepting single mothers is one of our revolutionary changes . There are about quarter of a million single mums who are under the age of 25 in the UK, and we want to give them every opportunity to succeed in life especially in the showbiz, modelling and entertainment arena.
While not one to encourage single motherhood, the Miss GB office feels that the old rule of banning single mothers springs from a typically male preconception that beautiful young girls need to be virginal which is out of touch with reality and todays society.
Happy St Davids Day!
